I use to be very cheap when it came to my jewelry. I was more worried about building my collection to have one of every color, style, trend, etc. that I rarely spent more then $10-$20 on a piece of jewelry. After years of this I came to the realization that those cheap pieces I was buying were either breaking, rusting, or no longer on trend. From that point on I decided I wanted to invest more in the quality of jewelry I was buying. I would say I spend about $20-$60 a piece now on trending jewelry and anywhere from $100-$300 on pieces I know I will wear for years to come. Pieces I tend to spend more on are watches, pearls and sentimental jewelry.
I was recently introduced to a newly-launched jewelry company who celebrate the people, culture and trends of New York city with their line of fully customizable designer jewelry. The lead designer of Gemma Gray has worked with some of the worlds top jewelry designers like Tiffany & Co, Vera Wang and Judith Ripka! All of their pieces are custom designed, handcrafted in NYC and only made with precious metals and genuine gemstones. These stats alone impressed me and had me eager to try out their line. When I found out how reasonable priced they were I was sold. I mean, where else can you buy stylish, handcrafted jewelry in real 14K gold and diamonds for $130? You can completely customize your pieces in 14k white gold, 14k yellow gold, 14k rose gold. They also offer sterling silver and over 20 different genuine gemstones.
I wanted a piece that had meaning behind it and something I could wear on a daily basis. One that could easily be layered or worn on its own and I of course wanted it to be stylish and something I could wear for years to come. Though Gemma Gray had many beautiful pieces, which made it hard to pick one, I finally decided on the hand stamped initial bar pendant. I then had the option of which metal I wanted the pendant to be. Being the huge fan of rose gold I am, I of course chose that. I then had the option to choose the type of metal chain I wanted, in which I choose white gold. I also had the choice of which stone I wanted. I chose the diamond for my stone because it represent my husbands and mines marriage in April, our daughter birth in April and my son’s birth in September. Finally I had the choice of what letter I wanted handstand on the pendant. I chose a K to represent my families last name. I couldn’t have been happier with my purchase from Gemma Gray. The necklace turned out beautiful. I loved that I got to customize so many aspects of it, which gave it meaning. It’s more than just a necklace.
